Biography

Carlos Monerris is a Chemical Engineer from the Universitat Politécnica de València (UPV). He has worked in the technological centre ITENE since 2007 in different positions. He studied the Higher Programme in Sales Management at ESIC Business & Marketing School and in 2018 he assumed the position of Director of Technology Transfer and Market of ITENE, position that he currently holds. The provisional political agreement between the Presidency of the Council of the EU and the representatives of the European Parliament on the proposal for a regulation on packaging and packaging waste of 4 March constitutes another step towards its publication. Its entry into force, which will be mandatory for member States following its approval, will entail amendments to Royal Decree 1055/2022 on Packaging and Packaging Waste, and will introduce, in some cases, more restrictive measures and extend, in turn, the terms for some of them until 2040.
